The initiator
The German Design Award is offered by the German Design Council, the German authority on design and brands. Its mission which it received from the very top: to represent German ground-breaking design. Established as a foundation following an initiative by the German Bundestag (parliament) in 1953, it supports the business world to increase brand value through design. This makes the German Design Council one of the leading global centres of competence regarding communication and brand management.
